Stupidity At Its Finest.

I came across this article earlier today on Jezebel.com , & it made me very upset. Apparently some fans of the series "The Hunger Games" were enraged at the fact that the character who plays "Rue" is black. Many people are posting racist comments on twitter [shown above] & are expressing disgust over this FICTIONAL movie. I have not seen the movie nor have i read the book, but according to the website there is a part in the book that describes Rue:

…And most hauntingly, a twelve-year-old girl from District 11. She has dark brown skin and eyes, but other than that's she's very like Prim in size and demeanor... (Pg.45)

it's in the fucking book, SO WHY THE HELL DO THESE PEOPLE SEEM SO SURPRISED? What was their initial interpretation of this girl... that she was white with a tan? Or maybe she could've been Indian, Hispanic, or Native American. Regardless of what ethnicity the girl is, there is no excuse to such outrage.

Some thought that Rue being black ruined the movie, & others claimed they did not feel bad about Rue's death after they discovered she was black.

UNBELIEVABLE.

oh wow! thats so crazy. It is clearly in the book: DARK BROWN SKIN but maybe they possibly got confused when they said she was like Prim "in size". Maybe they thought it read she was much like Prim and they interpreted dark brown skin with hours at the tanning bed.

Honestly they really don't have to go see the movie because the little girl who played Rue already got paid and has it made in the shade.
